This is gonna be my first post in english. I hope you enjoy it, as well as I'm enjoying writting it.
My topic to write is: WrestleMania. Few people know what Wrestlemania is all about, and less what is the meaning of the show for wrestling fans, like me. In USA, events like this are over-follow because it's other kind of show-business; another type of PPV event, "bigger, badder and more electrify", like this year' slogan said. WrestleMania has many nicknames: "The showcase of the inmortals" or "The greatest stage of them all", and that nicknames talk about how this show is. Any figure out:
This year's WrestleMania was celebrated April 3rd in the Georgia Dome stadium, in Atlanta, in front of more than 71.000 fans and millions watching around the world. The TV program was translated onto more than 20 languages. The name was WrestleMania XXVII and, ignoring the fact that is a wrestling show, reunited celebrities like Nicole Polizzi a.k.a. Snooki -from MTV's 'Jersey shore'-, Grammy nominee Keri Hilson, teenagers idol Justin Bieber (son of a bitch, lucky hobbit, face of Superpop's cover...) and many more.
One of the atractions was Triple H vs. Undertaker in a No holds barred match. The Undertaker has the most important record-winning streak in all sport entertainment. After Sunday's battle, 19-0. 19 wins, 0 losses. It's like winning the Superbowl 19 years in a row. Absolutely legendary. Two icons collided, and The deadman make The game tap out with a MMA move call Gogoplata.
Alberto del Río, the essence of the excellence, fall to The rated-R superstar Edge in a match involving this two for the World Heavywheight Championship. A deception for latino fans, but still looks a good fight.
Snooki wrestles for the first time, and show a innovated splash to lead her team to the victory. Cody Rhodes makes Rey Mysterio pay for a "facial reconstruction" and Randy Orton put retribution on CM Punk and his continuous attacks on The viper during the past months. And also a horrible match between stable The Corre and "a stable" (ironically, of animals).
But the main event was non other that The Miz trying to retain his WWE Ch'ship -the most valued title in wrestling- against John Cena. All running until actor and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock and also the host of WrestleMania XXVII, make his appearance on the spotlight, delivering a Rock Bottom -his wrestling signature movement- to John Cena, to help The awesome one to win the brawl. Two eras face to face, and personal retribution for Rocky. A feud that cross wrestling gimmicks, all personal. If you cannot smell what The Rock is cooking, check this video out and proove it:
